Arsenal vs Swansea City
This Saturday’s three o’clock kick off will see Arsenal take on a sore Swansea City side who find themselves lingering in 15th place on points.
It hasn’t been the best start to the season for either side, but with Arsenal in 5th and level on points with 4th placed Chelsea, it almost looks certain that they’ll be claiming yet another three points from a team who have lost four of their last five in all competitions.
With that being said though, despite their troubles in the league, Swansea have been able to ruffle Arsenal feathers a number of times before. Since arriving in the Premier League, the Swans have won four games against Arsenal, with two coming in the last five meetings between the clubs.
One player that could help salvage some points for Swansea is Tammy Abraham who has scored five goals so far this season, but that is in place of last season’s main men Gylfi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente.
Paul Clement takes his side to north London this Saturday as he looks to upset the balance at the Emirates.
Arsenal have hit form at the right time – five wins in their last six in all competitions puts them in good stead for Saturday’s game. The Swans however, with only two wins in their last six, are more endangered. They failed to perform against a weakened and beatable Manchester United on Tuesday and a home defeat to fellow strugglers Leicester will have dealt them a heavy blow.Clement will presumably be planning to sit deep against the Gunners and try and beat them for pace on the counter; a hard ask when you consider the raw speed of the likes of Hector Bellerin and Sead Kolasinac.
It also looks like we’ll be seeing the front three of Alexis, Ozil and Lacazette again, or as most have started calling them AOL, and maybe against another poor side defensively they’ll be able to run riot at The Emirates.
Last week at Everton as well as being the first time they had all played together, saw Mesut Ozul register his first assist of the season, despite him creating 24 chances before that across the season so hopefully this trio will be more clinical with the chances they are presented with.
