The Arizona Coyotes and New Jersey Devils meet Saturday in NHL action at the Prudential Center.

The Arizona Coyotes are still looking for their first win of the season after a brutal 0-9-1 start. The Arizona Coyotes are averaging 2.3 goals per game and are scoring on 16.7 percent of their power play opportunities. Clayton Keller leads Arizona with seven goals, Max Domi has seven assists and Anthony Duclair has 23 shots on goal. Defensively, the Arizona Coyotes are allowing 4.4 goals per game and are killing 74.1 percent of their opponents power plays. Louis Domingue has given up 24 goals on 169 shots faced and Antti Raanta has allowed five goals on 56 shots.

The Arizona Coyotes have allowed three or more goals in eight straight games. Antti Raanta is questionable with a lower-body injury.

The New Jersey Devils look to stay hot while building on their solid 6-2-0 record to start the NHL season. The New Jersey Devils are averaging 3.8 goals per game and are scoring on 22.9 percent of their power play opportunities. Jesper Bratt leads New Jersey with three goals, Will Butcher has nine assists and Taylor Hall has 25 shots on goal.

Defensively, the New Jersey Devils are allowing three goals per game and are killing 78.6 percent of their opponents power plays. Cory Schneider has given up 19 goals on 205 shots faced and Keith Kinkaid has allowed five goals on 73 shots. The New Jersey Devils have allowed three or more goals in six of their last seven games. Cory Schneider and Kyle Palmieri are questionable with injuries.

The Coyotes are 20-44 in their last 64 games playing on 1 days rest, 0-6 in their last 6 Saturday games and 22-50 in their last 72 overall. The Devils are 1-7 in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest, 8-21 in their last 29 home games and 2-6 in their last 8 Saturday games. The Coyotes are 1-5 in the last 6 meetings in New Jersey, 1-5 in the last 6 meetings and the home team is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings.

Even with the Devils on the end of a back-to-back, I’m not sure how anybody can back the Coyotes right now. Arizona has done nothing to deserve having money put on them, as the offense isn’t producing on a consistent basis and the defense is downright awful. The Coyotes seem to allow three goals before they even take the ice. Give me the Devils at home and the reasonable price.
